Beautiful Stately Home Wedding in Devon

Updated: Aug 11, 2023

2021 is nearly over for weddings and my gosh what a full on wedding season it was with suppliers going above and beyond to fit two years worth of weddings into one!

Watch our behind the scenes video on our biggest wedding in 2021!

We had the absolute pleasure to plan Aimee & Joe's wedding from start to finish in the beautiful Devon countryside. They gave us full reign to push our design limits to create a super stylish wedding with an incredible tablescape!

The venue, Kingston Estate, was a private stately home with surrounding cottages for all the guests to stay in a great space to enjoy a weekend of wedding celebrations. Kingston Manor was the backdrop for their ceremony with Fig and Flower creating an amazing asymmetric floral design framing the pergola with beautiful aisle meadows which were later repurposed to the wedding breakfast.

Before the ceremony, Amiee's incredible hair and makeup was done by Melissa Oldridge who's skills are paramount to make each bride and bridesmaid look outstanding with a look that lasts all day!

Stationery was created and designed by Lou Paper who worked alongside me to create the vision I had for A&J. We wanted to create something different by layering two colours to create individual menu and name places. We love the use of gold to add that little bit of extra colour to the black text.

Photography was captured by Mindy Coe Photography who we think has the perfect tone for the couple, the venue and the colour scheme. Yeti Film also created this amazing video for the couple!

The drinks reception was held in the Walled Garden which you entered via an 'Alice in Wonderland' style hole in the hedge where an acoustic saxophonist greeted guests alongside cold glasses of prosecco and canapes.

We had some fun doing bridal party photos with some crazy smoke bombs! We would highly recommend doing something like this on your wedding day! Not only are the photos epic but a fun moment on the day too!

They then moved over to The Barn for their wedding breakfast which we transformed into a stylish modern space for the wedding party to enjoy a delectable 3 course dinner.

The tablescape was careful curated with different elements to create layers of height and texture. We mixed rattan placemats with a cheesecloth runner, gold cutlery and cut crystal water glasses. We kept the rattan theme going with different size lamps hanging overhead and brought in a neutral black metal in the form of lamps, tealight holders and candle holders to bring it together.

The florals finished off the design with wild meadows in concrete rectangular containers and complementing cut crystal vases. We repurposed the ceremony flowers onto the tables as well as securing to the overhead structures to make sure nothing went to waste!

The guests then celebrated the cutting of the cake and the couples first dance outside in the cobbled courtyard under twinkling festoon lights whilst enjoying music by the amazing Summer Sons and then a surprise performance by Solaris within a hidden secret wine cellar turned club!

We absolutely LOVED creating A&J's dream wedding come to life and wish them all the happiness for the rest of their lives!

Happy Planning
