A Very British Wedding Weekend In The Cotswolds
As a US couple with British roots, Bailei & Josh were keen for their wedding day to be hosted at a quintessentially British venue with beautiful grounds for their international guests to enjoy. With guests flying in from across the pond, they wanted to host their guests for a full wedding weekend of celebrations, allowing everyone to settle in and embrace the English countryside. It was an opportunity to bring together everyone they loved for a destination wedding which could be remembered for years to come, with plenty of traditional British touches, coupled with modern styling and impressive design.
Grade II-listed historic manor house Tortworth Court provided the ideal setting for the 3-day wedding celebration. The venue marries Victorian architecture with contemporary elegance on the southernmost edge of England’s glorious Cotswolds, offering the perfect introduction to the stunning scenery of the English countryside for our US guests and a very British wedding weekend.

Rehearsal dinner
Guests were welcomed on-site with a warm & elegantly designed rehearsal dinner. We leant into an autumnal, British aesthetic for our tablescape and created a space which felt atmospheric and inviting, with deep plum tones paired with pops of raspberry.

Wedding day design
Given the beauty and versatility of the Orangery at Tortworth Court, this light-filled space was utilised for all three key elements of the wedding day - the ceremony, dinner and reception. To perfectly match our desired aesthetic for the day, we started by removing faux flowers and stripping everything back, allowing us to start with a blank space. Letting our creative juices really flow, we got to work quickly with draping and florals to transform the room, always working with the overall vision in mind. Logistical planning was key to ensuring turnaround timings were slick, allowing the day to flow seamlessly for our US couple and their guests. We brought on board an expert team of luxury wedding professionals to ensure each and every detail was executed with care and within time, and the result speaks for itself!
Ceremony
As the first insight into the wedding day itself, we knew we wanted to make a real impact with the ceremony. And that meant florals in abundance! With modern white staging and a floral Chuppah to act as a stunning backdrop for the couple's interfaith Jewish ceremony, we added a clean white aisle, delicate white draping and real trees and flowers around the room to bring the outside in and evoke a feeling of ethereal British romance.
The small details were all considered for the ceremony, with reserved seating tags for special family members and the most beautiful music played on the piano by Okiem, accompanied by a Cellist to fill the space. We even put in a bespoke cut carpet that was a little wider to create more impact.

Reception
It’s always the best feeling to bring a couple’s wedding vision to life, and this one was no exception! The wedding day had a true Bridgerton vibe, embracing the elegance of the Regency era while adding modern touches to make it feel timeless and romantic.
We wanted a clean but luxurious aesthetic, so we opted for a classic colour palette of whites and soft blues. The result was an enchanting atmosphere, where every detail felt carefully curated and perfectly aligned with our modern British brief. The use of white florals, including some incredible reflexed roses, created an air of sophistication while the subtle pops of blue in tableware and stationery added a fresh & delicate touch of colour to the design. Our expertly turned-around reception space was filled with lush florals, and tables dressed with neutral linens, luxury tableware and pillar candles to add to the sense of contemporary grandeur worthy of a modern-day Bridgerton celebration.

The Party
The evening party was full of energy with one of our favourite bands, The Phat Cats, providing live entertainment all evening, followed by a DJ. The dancefloor was packed all evening!
With nods to Josh's Jewish heritage throughout the evening and some fabulous fun dancing, it was a night to remember and full of energy! The kind of party that we love here at Bluebird.
Guests party the night away until the early hours under draping, candelight and floral foliage.
