FAQs

I haven't been to a Hindu/Indian ceremony before, what do I need to do?

Welcome the groom, clap along, sit and don't get too close to the fire! Unlike Christian ceremonies, there are no prayers or hymns to worry about fumbling. Don't worry if you think you won't understand what blessings are being said, virtually none of the guests will! Hindu blessings are spoken in Sanskrit, an ancient language which is no longer widely spoken. During the ceremony itself, the Maraj (Indian Priest) will translate the meaning of each step and blessing into English throughout.

I want to wear both formal and Indian dress throughout the day, are there changing facilities?

There's no pressure to change during the day, but if you would like to then we suggest getting in contact with us to co-ordinate changing logistics. There will be some time after lunch and before the reception for guests to change, either off-site in your hotel/airbnb or on-site in certain rooms.

I'm vegetarian/vegan/have dietary requirements - where should I flag these?

Please fill in your dietary requirements in the RSVP link so that we can make sure to accommodate these.

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

Our wedding ceremony will be outdoors (although covered under a stretch tent in case of any good old British rain!) and our reception will be indoors.

Are we allowed to take pictures during the wedding?

We'd love for you to take pictures during the wedding and share them all with us afterwards but please be mindful of other guests being able to see the wedding and please don't block the aisle.

When is the RSVP deadline?

Please RSVP by 31st May 2024 so we have an accurate headcount.
