So this event is long overdue a write up, but it is worth the wait! Back in February, we had the absolute pleasure of organising a baby shower for one gorgeous mummy and her pink bump! Our wonderful client Emma lives over in Dubai, but is originally a local Surrey girl. Her husband contacted me about 4 weeks before she was due to return home to see some friends (when she was still allowed to fly) and asked if I could put together a surprise baby shower for his beautiful wife and their pink bump.
The brief was luxury, not tacky, stylish, relaxed, a special gathering for her closest friends, must include something for the toddlers attending (one of which was their young son). So I set about putting together a moodboard to give him an idea of what I could create for this lovely event.
Emma's husband loved the moodboard. Like most of our clients he is a very busy man with his career and so gave all trust in me to pull together a beautifully stylish event for his gorgeous wife to celebrate their upcoming arrival with her nearest and dearest.
The celebration was set at a gorgeous bespoke coffee house in Surrey, which had a real urban, stylish vibe to it. We focused on copper highlights and pops of baby pink and white. I didn't want too much pink as that could cross into the realms of tacky. We decided on paper plates as it was still supposed to be relaxed, a lovely afternoon tea type lunch with a food station for both the savoury and anther cake and dessert table.
The room was decorated with lots of foliage pieces, simple, but keeping it pretty. There was a eucalyptus curtain as a feature on the brick wall the had the food station and lots of copper vases scattered around containing ranunculus, astilbe, eucalyptus and rosemary. Bluebird Creative did the flower arrangements for this party and we really loved getting creative with them and choosing the selection.
Other elements we included were some bespoke mocktails. We worked with the bartender to choose so mocktails that we thought we be loved by all and created names that had relevance to the celebration.
The children ha da great time courtesy of The Little Top, who brought a load of fun goodies for them to play with as well as little tipis and plenty of games. Each child also had a goodie bag to take home with them. It was great having some entertainment for the kids, because it mean the mums really could relax and enjoy the party and the kids also had a fab time!
The kids weren't the only ones who got to play though. As always this baby shower was filled with some fun and silly games. I am such a games junky and loved creating some games for the lovely Emma and her friends to play. There were lots of laughs all round.
It was such a pleasure planning this event for Emma and her beautiful little girl to be. It was filled with so much pretty and a lot of smiles, love and laughter.
We'd also like to congratulate Emma on the birth of her most stunning baby girl Isabella, who was born back in June. She really is beautiful just like her mummy!
